During my third year of Communication and Multimedia Design, I took on an exciting minor called Information Design. Over the course of six months, I immersed myself in the art of data visualization, learning how to communicate critical information clearly and effectively while collaborating with clients.

One course, Data Visualization, challenged us to turn raw data into something both creative and engaging. For one project, we were asked to fill out a questionnaire, analyze the results, and transform the data into a fun and visually appealing infographic. Every student created something entirely unique, which made the course all the more exciting.

"What if it’s all true, what if we actually live in a world where magic is all around. I have reason to believe magic is real. How else could I explain what happend to me and my classmates?"
Of course, I created my own infographic as well, which you can see here. It visualizes at least four key data points from the questionnaire, combined with additional data from another source. I had a blast designing this piece in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. This project was a turning point for me, it’s when I really started to feel confident using these tools. Not only was I proud of the final result, but I genuinely enjoyed the process. Thankfully, the professors agreed with me! Out of a class of 52 students, I was chosen, along with two classmates, to present our work at the annual Information Design Conference.

This was such an incredible honor, and I was overjoyed. My parents were so proud that they still have the poster I presented at the conference hanging in their home.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, a perfect blend of logic and creativity, like solving a fun and beautiful puzzle. I made great memories and learned so much.
